Tom Kittson makes it into the Oakleigh CC Under 15 RM Hatch Representative Squad
Tom Kittson has done it again. After gaining early recognition by Caulfield CC in their RM Hatch U15s Representative team 2 years ago at the tender age of 12, he was then selected in the prestigious and successful South East Seagulls U14 squad last year where he continued to display his wonderful leg spin skills and his solid batting capability.
This year Tom has been selected by Oakleigh CC in their RM Hatch U15 squad and will doubtless weave his magic in the January competition. Congratulations Tom, you continue to represent South Melbourne Districts Junior Cricket Club in these important Representative teams and we are, as always, proud of your efforts.
South Melbourne players achieve Caulfield CC RM Hatch Representative Cricket selection
Proud South Melbourne Junior Cricket players that have been selected to represent Caulfield in their Under 15s RM Hatch team – from left to right (back), Harry Christie, Rupert Alstergren, Jeremy Anderson; (front) Ted Alstergren.
Never before have four outstanding South Melbourne Districts players made it into one Representative cricket team.
We are thrilled to announce that four of our exciting players have been selected to represent Caulfield CC in this year’s U15 RM Hatch competition. These boys will compete on turf with amongst the best players within their age group in the Melbourne area.
Each player brings an unique and impressive story to their success. Rampaging Rupert Alstergren was selected by Caulfield last year for his fiercesome opening bowling. This year he adds an impressive batting capability to his armoury. Harry Christie has tasted deserved Representative cricket at CMCA U14 level before and has now been selected for his silky fast bowling and all rounder skills. Jeremy Anderson has broken through after trialling and never giving up. His penetrative fast bowling spells at last recognised for all their worth. Ted Alstergren, who unlike the other players is still Under 14, joins his brother Rupert to proudly play his part in this squad. If ever there was a player that knew no other way than ‘stepping up’, Ted is that player. His achievement is both outstanding and fully deserved. We wish them all a brilliant and fun campaign.
Notably, all of these players have ‘cut their teeth’ playing regularly for our alliance Club, Middle Park CC. We are all mighty proud of these young men and wish them the very best.
Fergus Peace makes it into the CMCA Under 16s Jim Beitzel Shield Representative Squad
We are delighted to announce the selection of Fergus Peace in the CMCA’s U16 Jim Beitzel Shield squad that competes with some of the finest Under 16 cricketers in Melbourne on turf at this time of year.
Fergus is a big contributor to the Twilight U16 A Team’s success this year and has worked his way through the South Melbourne Districts Junior Cricket ranks without ever receiving the recognition his skills deserve. Valued by his team mates as one of the most honest and consistent performers the Club are so pleased that his skills have at last been recognised at Representative level. His performances at senior level with our alliance Club, Middle Park CC have been legendary, proving that there are many avenues to recognition if you are committed.
Fergus offers a wonderful example of a young player that if not immediately recognised can still make it if he continues to hone his skills, work hard at try outs, and just plain believe in his capability.
Fergus is an inspiration to all players within the Club and will doubtless make his mark in the Jim Beitzel Shield in January.
