  Caulfield CC Under 15's Representative RM Hatch Boys
Louis Raymond, Patrick Garschagen (both from our Under 16B Team) and Rupert Alstergren (from our Under 14 A Team) were selected to represent Caulfield Cricket Club in their Under 15 Hatch campaign which was played on turf in early January.

Louis, in his second RM Hatch year, was honoured to be selected as Vice Captain and Patrick (in his 3rd campaign for Caulfield) was in full time action as the principal wicket keeper. Rupert, selected for his impressive bowling in the earlier trials, let no one down when he opened the bowling for Caulfield and took 2 wickets on his first outing.

All of our boys contributed to one of the most successful performances by Caulfield CC in the RM Hatch competition. They won 5 out of their 6 matches, beat the table toppers Ormond in their last match and missed out on reaching the competition Semi Finals by percentage only. Most of all, they had the most rewarding fun and learnt heaps from their coaches and team mates alike.

Well done boys you have represented yourselves and the South Melbourne Junior Cricket Club with great distinction. Importantly, Rupert has next year to look forward to as, subject to selection, he will lead our representative effort at this level in the 2010 season.

Record number of South Melbourne players selected for Representative Cricket teams
So far this season we have already had a record of past and present players selected for Representative teams…..and there is more to come!

Many of our players have worked hard throughout the winter and pre-season to secure a place in a number of prestigious Representative teams. Here is an up to date summary;
Lachlan Baker and Jack O’Sullivan (past players as recently as last season) - Under 18 Commonwealth Bank Squad of 13
Will Gilmour – Under 16 Dowling Shield Squad of 13
Tom Kittson – Under 14 Seagulls Squad of 13 (see attached story)
George Hiotis and Michael Ratnam – CMCA Under 12 Mitchell Shield Squad (see attached story)

Congratulations to all of the many boys who tried out. Congratulations to all of the boys above that made it into the final Representative squads.

George Hiotis and Michael Ratnam selected in the CMCA Under 12 Mitchell Shield Squad.
Having trained with a group of the best Under 12 players in the CMCA, two of our most talented Under 12 players, George Hiotis and Michael Ratnam have achieved selection into the CMCA Under 12 Mitchell Shield squad. They will play against other Association Representative teams in January.

These boys offer a great example to all of our Under 12 emerging talents. Hard work and dedication and lots of listening to their coaches have been the recipe for their success. We are mighty proud of George and Michael who continue a great Club tradition of providing talented Representative players. Congratulations and have the time of your life in January.

Congratulations to Tom Kittson and his proud Dad, Bill
Tom Kittson, one of the leaders in our Twilight Under 14A Team and most talented leg spinners, has been selected in the prestigious Seagulls Under 14 Squad of 13 to play other regional squads in January. This is a terrific achievement and just reward for all the hard work Tom has put in both off and in season for the last few years. Indeed, last year, still 12 years of age, Tom was selected in the Caulfield Under 15 Hatch Team and distinguished himself with both bat and spinning ball.

No wonder Bill, who volunteers so much time to the Club, is chuffed. We all are! Congratulations Tom.
